Full of Scrap Quilts

Full of Scrap Quilts, a new full-service quilt shop located at 612 Lincoln Street in Concordia, officially opens its doors on Tuesday, January 19th. Owned by Tammy and Roger Maher, Full of Scrap Quilts will offer quilt quality fabrics, notions, patterns, creative grids rulers, and threads.  They also offer professional machine quilting, t-shirt, and other commission quiltmaking services, as well as quilt binding services.

4 Kids Fuel & More

The Concordia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of 4 Kids Fuel & More with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, March 16th.

A new truck stop now serving customers in Cloud County, 4 Kids Fuel & More is located in Concordia's North Development at 2087 N. 145th Road near PrairieLand Partners and Tallgrass Veterinary Hospital. Owned by J Trost and Charlene Trost, 4 Kids Fuel & More is supporting local and regional interstate commerce by servicing large over-the-road trucks and delivery vans with a truck stop convenience store, fueling station and more.

Cloud County Health Center

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new $40.35 million Cloud County Health Center facility to be built along College Drive in Concordia was held on Monday, March 1st. The new hospital, which was originally announced in July 2019, will be constructed on an open property near Dollar Tree across the street from Cloud County Community College. The facility will encompass over 74,000 square-feet of space and include fourteen inpatient beds, emergency department, surgery space, rural health clinic, and all appurtenant services, as well as space to continue the variety of specialty clinic services already provided at the existing facility.

Maverick's Steakhouse

The Concordia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Mavericks Steakhouse with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday. Steven and Brittany Salgado purchased the former Heavy's Steakhouse & BBQ restaurant at 103 W. 7th Street. After making repairs to the front of the building and renovating the restaurant, the two have opened Mavericks Steakhouse, offering choice steaks, burgers and sandwiches, soups and salads, and more.

Common Grounds Coffeehouse

The Concordia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the grand opening of Common Grounds Coffeehouse with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday. Last spring, Common Ground Coffeehouse announced its permanent closure after three years. Shortly thereafter, North Central Kansas Teens for Christ, a local, independent, non-denominational youth ministry working in a thirteen county area of North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska, launched a fundraiser to purchase the locally-owned coffee shop at 104 E. 7th Street in Concordia.

Downtown Girls

The Concordia Chamber of Commerce held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Thursday for a new boutique, Downtown Girls, welcoming them to the Chamber. Owned by Jennifer Harrington and located at 120 W. 6th Street, Downtown Girls features clothing, handbags, jewelry, accessories, and more.
